Planning as a Feature
Workspace planning is a major strength. It helps the AI break bigger requests into manageable steps, track work over time, and surface what still needs validation.
Pre-plans and live plans:
GameCatalyst supports both thinking ahead and executing with structure. Pre-plans let you draft ideas before committing. Live plans track active work with real-time progress. That makes it easier to go from idea, to design, to implementation with far less confusion.
Plan structure:
Plans include phases, features, and individual tasks. Each task goes through a lifecycle: start, implement, verify, complete. You can approve, bypass, pause, or add comments at any level. The Plan Wizard provides a visual interface for managing all of this directly inside the Unity Editor.
Why planning matters:
Anything beyond a simple one-step task benefits from a visible plan. Plans create accountability, traceability, and a clear record of what was done and why. They transform AI-assisted development from a series of disconnected commands into a structured, reviewable workflow.
