Linking Your Account for Enhanced Features

Linking your Vexstorm account unlocks support tickets and academy access, creating a seamless connection between your Unity Editor, your AI assistant, and Vexstorm’s support infrastructure. The linking process is quick, secure, and completely optional—GameCatalyst works fully without it, but linking provides convenience features that enhance your experience.

How to link your account:

The entire process takes less than two minutes:

1. Register at vexstorm.com (free) — Create an account with your email. No payment required.
2. Verify your GameCatalyst license with your Unity Asset Store invoice number — This confirms you own GameCatalyst and unlocks Academy access.
3. Generate a 6-digit link code in My Account → Support tab — Click “Generate Link Code” to create a temporary code.
4. Open GameCatalyst Dashboard → Support tab — In Unity, open the Dashboard and navigate to the Support tab.
5. Paste the link code and click “Redeem Code” — Enter the 6-digit code in the provided field.
6. Account linked successfully — You’ll see a confirmation message with your VexstormID displayed.

Link code security:

The 6-digit linking system is designed for security and convenience:

• Codes expire after 10 minutes — This prevents old codes from being reused if intercepted.
• One-time use only — Once redeemed, the code is permanently invalidated.
• No sensitive data transmitted — The code doesn’t contain your email, password, or any personal information.
• Encrypted transmission — All communication happens over HTTPS with TLS encryption.

If your code expires before you redeem it, simply generate a new one. There’s no limit to how many codes you can generate.

What linking unlocks:

Once linked, you gain access to integrated features:

• Submit support tickets from Unity Dashboard or WhatIs site — No need to switch to your browser or remember login credentials.
• Access academy lessons at academy.vexstorm.com — Video tutorials and courses become available immediately.
• Track ticket status in My Account portal — See all your tickets, responses, and resolution status in one place.
• Priority support for verified license holders — Linked accounts receive faster response times (typically within 24 hours).
• Auto-populated ticket forms — Your VexstormID, software version, and OS are automatically filled in when submitting tickets.
• Product role badges — Your account displays which Vexstorm products you own (GameCatalyst, StormWeave, etc.).

What stays free without linking:

Linking is optional. Without linking, you still have:

• All GameCatalyst features work normally — Commands, DAP, workspace.plan, Dashboard, everything functions fully.
• All documentation at docs.vexstorm.com is accessible — No registration required for written guides.
• WhatIs site remains fully functional — Local documentation works offline without any account.
• Email support — You can email support@vexstorm.com directly without linking.

Linking is optional but recommended for enhanced support. If you prefer to keep GameCatalyst completely local with no external connections, that’s perfectly fine. The choice is yours.

Unlinking your account:

If you ever want to unlink, go to Dashboard → Support tab → Click “Unlink Account”. Your VexstormID is cleared from local storage, and the connection is severed. You can re-link anytime with a new code.
